The National Development and Reform Commission recently announced the "China's Roadmap for Eliminating Incandescent Lamps (Draft for Comment)." According to the consultation draft, by 2016, China will completely eliminate the use of incandescent lamps for general lighting. The final draft of the roadmap for the elimination of incandescent lamps in China will be officially released on October 1 this year.
The Exposure Draft proposes to ban the sale and import of incandescent lamps for general lighting of 100 watts and above from October 1, 2012; from October 1, 2014, it is prohibited to sell and import incandescent lamps for general lighting of 60 watts and above. Lamps; in accordance with energy efficiency standards, it is prohibited to produce, sell and import inefficient tungsten halogen lamps with luminous efficacy below the energy efficiency limit; from October 1, 2016, it is prohibited to sell and import incandescent lamps for general lighting of 15 watts or more. Among them, reflective incandescent lamps, spotlights, decorative lamps and other types of incandescent lamps and special-purpose incandescent lamps are not eliminated.
