The main deposits of feldspar are pegmatite, weathered granite , fine-grained rock (semi-weathered granite), in addition to feldspathic pottery, potassic rhyolite, albite associated with serpentinite , and nepheline flash Changyan and Baigangyan. Depending on the type of feldspar deposit and the nature of the ore, different methods of beneficiation are required. Generally, the crushing and grinding is carried out after the hand picking, and then the iron mineral is removed by magnetic separation. In recent years, with the reduction of rich feldspar mines and the development of comprehensive recovery of feldspar technology in other mines, more complicated sorting operations such as re-election, electric selection and flotation have been introduced to remove associated minerals such as quartz and mica . To obtain a feldspar concentrate rich in potassium and sodium and to recycle high quality products.

According to the ore nature of the feldspar mine, the general selection process principle is as follows:

(1) High-quality feldspar produced in pegmatite: hand selection → crushing → grinding (or water milling) → classification.

(2) Feldspar in weathered granite: crushing→grinding→grading→flotation (except iron and mica)→flotation (separation of quartz and feldspar).

(3) Feldspar in fine-grained rock (generally containing mica, sometimes containing iron): crushing → grinding → screening → magnetic separation.

(4) feldspar sand mine: water elution mud → sieving (or flotation separation quartz, etc.).

(1) Shandong Xintai Changshi Mine

The mine is located in Dongshi shed and north of Shishi shed in Yangliu Township, Xintai County, Shandong Province. The deposit is a metamorphic schist system. The ore is mainly potassium feldspar (blocky), and also contains albite, quartz, muscovite, etc. .
