This was a call about a car crashing into a building. I didn't hear the Glenview dispatch, but I did hear RED Center sending Engine 1 and TRT3. I was on Central Road heading to NIPSTA for a MABAS meeting, so I took the call in cold. Upon arrival, I noticed the car had crashed into the garage and there was a strong smell of natural gas in the area. I was parked at least 100 yards away from the incident. GV had a line laid out and was working to secure the gas leak. I don’t know if there were any injuries. As soon as I got to the command post, Battalion 6 returned TRT3, E1, and some GV companies.

It was a pretty tense situation, especially with the gas leak. I could feel the urgency in the air even from a distance. The firefighters worked quickly to contain the situation and make sure everything was safe. I’m glad no one was hurt, but it’s always scary to see something like that happen. The photos show the aftermath and the response, which really captures the moment. It's a reminder of how important it is to stay alert and act fast in emergencies.
