Our hard chromium piston rods are made from more than just JIS S45C material. The rods undergo precision machining and surface chromium treatment, achieving a surface precision level of **F7**, with a minimum surface hardness of **HV 800**. This not only enhances wear resistance but also extends the service life of the rods, helping customers reduce costs.
The corrosion resistance of our products is tested in an internal salt spray laboratory. Before undergoing precision machining and hard chrome plating, the rods are heat-treated to achieve a surface hardness of **HRC 55° ± 2°**, with a hardened depth of **0.5–3 mm**. The chrome layer thickness is **20 microns ± 10%**, significantly improving wear resistance and extending the rod's lifespan.

**Chrome Plated Steel Bars:**
Produced from medium carbon cold-finished or hot-rolled steel bars, typically in 1045 grades. These bars are centerless ground, polished, and chrome-plated to a minimum thickness of 0.0005", and 0.001" per side. They are specifically designed for use in most piston rod applications in hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders.
**Induction Hardened Chrome Plated Bars:**
Made using advanced processing techniques on JIS S45C, SAE1045, or DIN CK45 steel rods. After surface removal, polishing, and induction hardening, they are coated with hard chrome to a thickness of at least 0.0005" or 0.001" per side.
