China developed its own intellectual property digital aerial camera

China National Bureau of Surveying and Mapping: Chinese scientists have developed a digital aerial camera with independent intellectual property rights, which will change the situation that Chinese aerial photogrammetry has always used traditional film cameras.

Aerial photography is an important source of information for measuring and updating national topographic maps and geographic information databases. For a long time, China's aerial photogrammetry has been using film-based aerial cameras to obtain data, which is efficient, automated and intelligent.

The research team led by remote sensing expert Liu Xianlin developed the SWDC series digital aerial camera as an important technical means for spatial information acquisition and update, filling the domestic gap.

The SWDC series digital aerial camera has three to four times higher elevation accuracy than similar foreign products. The resolution and geometric accuracy are higher than those of similar foreign products. In addition, even in cloudy days, it can be photographed under the clouds; the lens coverage is larger, so the shooting efficiency is more efficient. High, lower cost; the lens can be replaced, one instrument can meet the needs of different scale topographic map measurement, greatly improve the utilization of the instrument; smaller size and lighter weight.

The appraisal committee chaired by the former Minister of Science and Technology Xu Guanhua, the chairman of the Ministry of Science and Technology, believes that SWDC series digital aerial camera products are internationally leading in elevation accuracy, and the overall technical indicators have reached the international advanced level, which can be widely used in land, surveying, water conservancy, highways, railways, Urban construction, environmental protection, tourism and other departments.

The SWDC digital aerial camera has also made breakthroughs in its key technology, high-precision splicing of multi-image machines, that is, virtual image generation technology of multiple image stitching. At the same time, the project developed a GPS flight control management system, which undertakes the mission of navigating, recording the track and camera exposure time, and accurately providing the coordinates of the exposure point, making the system unattended and accurate.
