The 400,000 tons/young petrol etherification plant of Uru Petrochemical, designed by the East China Design Branch, has successfully completed the entire process. After two days of smooth adjustment, qualified etherified light gasoline products have been produced. The product has a sulfur content of <50 ppm and an octane rating of approximately 3.3 units, which meets the design criteria.
The light gasoline etherification unit introduced the CDHydro, CDEthers and ISOMPLUS process technologies and process packages of the CDTECH company in the United States. It is currently the largest set of equipment for the introduction of this technology in China. After the light gasoline is treated by the device, the olefin content is reduced and the octane number is increased, which can reduce the blended gasoline olefin content of the entire Wuke Petrochemical Plant and produce more high-grade National IV gasoline products.
The device broke ground on April 16, 2011 and realized China Communications on November 13. Afterwards, after a series of methodical start-up processes such as driving the heat-conducting oil system, drying the arsenic-removing agent, dewaxing the hydrogenation catalyst, replacing the methanol with the etherification catalyst, and driving the methanol recovery system, the entire process of the device was opened up to achieve a successful start.
