On December 30th, 2009, Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission advanced the research and development project of Beijing's electric sanitation vehicle undertaken by Beijing Xicheng District Environmental Health Service Center, Beijing Institute of Technology and Beijing Secco Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The project is based on Beijing's "Tenth Five-Year" pure electric passenger car and Olympic electric vehicle technical achievements, based on the development of electric vehicle integrated design and electric transformation of electric vehicles, development of drive motors and motor controllers, power battery system integration, and charging. Research on operating methods, etc. Developed four electric electric sanitation vehicles, including a pure electric watering truck, a pure electric garbage compression truck, and 2 pure electric garbage sweepers, and successfully carried out environmental sanitation operations in Xicheng District, Beijing. Nearly a year of trial operation. Compared with traditional sanitation vehicles, it has the advantages of low noise, high work efficiency, energy recycling, good control and operation characteristics, wide application range, and easy industrialization.
At present, on the basis of the R&D achievements of the project, 30 batches of pure electric sanitation vehicles have been mass-produced. The demonstration will be conducted in Xicheng District, Beijing.
The smooth implementation of the project fully embodies the concepts of the tech Olympics, the Green Olympics, and the Humanities Olympics. It has vigorously promoted the application of pure electric technology in sanitation vehicles, enabled the Beijing Sanitation Vehicle to make major breakthroughs in the areas of technology and applications, and improved Beijing. The city’s sanitation operation technology level provides a good way for the settlement of environmental problems in Beijing.
