Chicago FD Turret Wagon history (pt6)

I just got some awesome updates about the Chicago FD's turret wagons from my buddy Steve Redick. He sent over these incredible images, and one of them even features Big John hanging out at Engine 42’s firehouse. It’s always cool to see these iconic vehicles in action, especially with the guys who keep everything running smoothly. Check out this first shot of the turret wagon—classic Chicago FD gear. The detail on these trucks is something else! And here’s another angle for you to appreciate. Both were captured by Steve himself. But wait, there’s more! Steve also uncovered this fantastic picture of Big John, looking as ruggedly handsome as ever. This one was snapped by Tim Vermande, another great photographer in our circle. I love how these photos bring back memories of simpler times when duty and camaraderie were at the heart of every mission. These kinds of posts always remind me why I’m so passionate about documenting firefighting culture. Whether it’s through art or photography, sharing stories helps preserve the legacy of those who serve. If anyone has more images or anecdotes they’d like to share, feel free to reach out—I’d love to hear from you! Anyway, hope everyone enjoys these pics as much as I do. Stay safe out there, folks! P.S. If any of you have similar content or know someone who does, drop me a line. I’m always eager to connect with fellow enthusiasts.
