When Berwyn Engine 903 arrived, they found the structure already fully engulfed in flames, quickly spreading to nearby buildings. Firefighters wasted no time; crews deployed multiple lines, attacking the blaze from both the front and rear. Berwyn Engine 902 connected to the aerial pipe of their ladder truck, while Engine 901 worked its way through the gangways to reach the back of the property. This fire was declared a Box Alarm situation, requiring significant resources to control it. Seven hand lines were in operation, with firefighters from Cicero Engine 2, Forest Park Engine 401, and North Riverside E807 also pitching in to help.
