Epson Toyo successfully developed high-precision crystal pressure sensor

Epson Toyo Communications has introduced a new line of high-precision pressure sensors known as the "TSU" series. These sensors utilize a crystal oscillator to measure pressure with exceptional accuracy. The principle behind this technology is that the frequency of the crystal oscillator changes in response to pressure variations, allowing for precise and reliable measurements. The TSU series includes four different models, each capable of measuring pressure up to a maximum of 1 MPa, with the lowest model handling as low as 100 kPa. The sample unit price is set at 400,000 yen, making it an attractive option for industrial and commercial applications that require high-performance sensing solutions. A key feature of the TSU series is its dual tuning fork crystal oscillator, which ensures outstanding stability and fast response times. This design also provides a high Q value, meaning the resonance is very sharp and well-defined. As a result, the sensors offer excellent repeatability, superior temperature characteristics, and minimal hysteresis loss, ensuring consistent performance across a wide range of operating conditions.
