Huo Zonglin, deputy director of the maintenance workshop at Daqing Petrochemical Acrylic Fiber Factory, recently received the "Special Award of Factory Director" for successfully developing a high-performance machine-wrapped roller self-stop alarm device. This innovative system was designed specifically for the winding machine of the setting machine, marking a significant step toward the localization of automatic stop alarm technology in acrylic fiber production.
The new self-stop alarm device combines mechanical and photoelectric control principles. The mechanical components are integrated inside the setting machine, while the photoelectric sensors are mounted on the external mirror of the equipment. The control system is housed in a dedicated control box. The photosensitive elements used in the system are highly heat-resistant, ensuring stable performance even under extreme conditions. The system offers fast response times, high detection sensitivity, and is unaffected by environmental factors, making it reliable and efficient.
Previously, the factory's spinning device relied on a purely mechanical self-stop system for the wrapped roller. However, due to the high temperature, pressure, and presence of water vapor and corrosive substances inside the setting machine, the electrical contacts often experienced poor connectivity, leading to short circuits. Additionally, mechanical wear frequently caused the original system to fail in transmitting the parking signal in time, resulting in large rollers becoming entangled during the shaping process. This would lead to full-line shutdowns, which were both time-consuming and costly to resolve.
Since the new alarm system was implemented in December last year, it has significantly improved operational efficiency. Previously, resolving issues with the winding roller could take up to six hours, but now the problem can be addressed within 20 minutes. As a result, the occurrence of full-line shutdowns due to winding roller failures has been completely eliminated, greatly enhancing production stability and reducing downtime. This innovation not only improves safety but also contributes to more efficient and cost-effective operations at the factory.
