New technologies from China and Schaeffler combine to reduce fuel consumption by 17%

A few days ago, at the 35th Vienna International Automotive Symposium, Continental and Schaeffler Group showed off their co-developed gasoline technology concept car. The Continental Group claims that the core micro-mixing technology used in the car can reduce fuel consumption by 17% and reduce CO2 emissions.

José Avila, member of the executive board of the Continental Group and president of the Powertrain Division, stated: “We integrated and systematically networked the main hybrid technologies from the Continental Group and the Schaeffler Group in the gasoline technology concept car. Prove the potential of energy-saving and emission reduction for gasoline engines."

It is reported that the two companies have optimized various aspects of the design of the powertrain system of the gasoline technology concept vehicle. In addition, a large number of innovative parts and technologies have also been added. With these components and smart operation strategies, the gasoline technology concept car can not only increase overall fuel efficiency by 17%, but also meet the upcoming Euro 6c emission standard.
