Usually, the amount of irrigation water in 667 m2 is between 360 and 410 m3. Saving water resources and improving the utilization of water resources are the essence of modern agriculture. Therefore, the role of soil moisture monitoring system in precision irrigation is quite obvious.

The main features of high-standard water-saving irrigation: automatic irrigation control, supporting soil moisture monitoring system, combined with soil characteristics, formulate scientific and reasonable field irrigation program, maximize the utilization of water and fertilizer. The high-standard water-saving demonstration project of the Comprehensive Experiment Field of the Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences adopts domestic advanced automated irrigation control systems, supporting field drip irrigation systems and soil monitoring systems, using soil monitoring data for analysis, and formulating scientific and rational irrigation schemes in combination with soil properties. Using high standard water-saving technology, the water is delivered to the crop roots slowly, evenly and quantitatively, so that the root soil of the crop always maintains scientific and reasonable water content.

This not only reduces the leakage of canal irrigation water, but also improves land utilization.
