New type of rapid detection equipment for agricultural products

Shenzhen Kechuang was appointed as a member of PepsiCo, and the major industrial research project “2013-027: Rapid Inspection and Development of Agricultural Products Safety” undertaken by the Shenzhen Institute of Inspection and Quarantine passed the acceptance check. The project fills the gap in the current lack of automatic and efficient detection methods for the agricultural products testing market in China.

The project uses nanotechnology, superparamagnetic technology, immunochromatography and optoelectronic technology to develop a miniature hand-held time-resolved digital detector and integrated food safety detector, and developed four types of rapid detection suitable for agricultural product safety. Test strips, including 10 kinds of rapid detection test strips for animal epidemics, 5 kinds of rapid test strips for pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables, 10 kinds of rapid test strips for aquatic products and residues of veterinary drugs in aquatic products, residues of veterinary drugs in dairy products, and illegal additives, etc. 25 quick test strips for rapid detection of factors, and a rapid determination of salbutamol, clenbuterol hydrochloride, ractopamine, a rapid test strip, and milk (melamine + beta-lactam + cephalexin + tetracycline) in meat products Test Strips and Milk Aminoglycosides (Streptomycin + Kanamycin + Gentamicin) Triple Detection Test Strips. The technical indicators such as the specificity, sensitivity and accuracy of the food safety rapid test strip developed by the project all meet the requirements of relevant national standards.

The implementation of the project solved the problems of the pre-processing complexity and detection time-consuming of the common agricultural and veterinary drug residues and illegal additives, pathogenic pathogens of animal diseases (such as H7N9 avian flu virus) and other hazards in agricultural products, and achieved the safety inspection of agricultural products. Four new breakthroughs:

Firstly, the developed integrated food safety detector can realize automatic sample pre-processing, chemical pollutant detection, pesticide and veterinary drug residue detection, and foodborne pathogen detection, which greatly reduces the instrument procurement costs of testing organizations;

The second is the development of miniature hand-held time-resolved digital detector detection time is less than 4 seconds / time, detection coefficient of variation is less than 5%, to the leading domestic level, and to achieve a digital quantitative detection of food safety hazard factors;

The third is to break through the bottleneck that traditional rapid detection reagents can only detect single or single compounds, and develop a highly sensitive on-site inspection test strip.

The fourth is the integration of fluorescent nanoparticles, superparamagnetic, monoclonal antibodies, and time-resolved technologies to develop high-sensitivity series rapid detection of animal diseases, pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables, veterinary drug residues in aquatic products, and veterinary drug residues and illegal additives in dairy products. The reagents have broken through the technical bottleneck of traditional food safety rapid detection reagents with long sample preparation time, slow quantitative detection and difficulty in on-site detection, and provided advanced technical means for food safety on-site law enforcement.
