China's scientific research units should develop key technologies for efficient processing and energy saving

China Drying Network News reported on the 2012 China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Wastewater Recycling New Technology Application Conference held in Beijing on July 31st. Professor Song Yunhua from Beijing University of Chemical Technology said that ammonia nitrogen wastewater will increase the cost of water treatment, cause death and damage to aquatic animals. Human health, etc., China's scientific research units and enterprises should focus on the needs of ammonia nitrogen emission control targets, increase the intensity of technological development, research and development of high-efficiency treatment and energy-saving key technologies to achieve ammonia reduction and resource utilization.

On July 11, 2012, the State Council passed the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” for Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction to ensure that by 2015, it will achieve a binding target of reducing the total amount of ammonia nitrogen and nitrogen oxide emissions by 10%. Song Yunhua believes that the ammonia gas effluent reduction task in China's chemical industry is arduous. To achieve the goal of ammonia reduction, strong technical support is also needed. At present, China's traditional ammonia nitrogen wastewater treatment technology is low in efficiency, high in energy consumption, and high in cost. It is necessary to increase the intensity of technological development to achieve ammonia nitrogen emission reduction and resource utilization.

Song Yunhua said that based on stripping and deamination technology, China needs to research and develop the following key technologies: First, high-efficiency deamination technology; second, energy-saving technology; third, resource recycling technology. Based on the above technologies, it is also necessary to realize the serialization of technologies and devices, complete sets, and automation.

It is reported that Beijing University of Chemical Technology has developed four sets of high-strength ammonia wastewater treatment technology, including stripping and deamination technology, double-effect energy-saving stripping and deamination technologies, energy-efficient coupled stripping and deamination technologies, and gravity-gas stripping. Ammonia technology can be based on ammonia-nitrogen content of deaminating wastewater, using different technologies to achieve recycling of ammonia nitrogen resources. At present, these technologies have been used in dozens of chemical plants such as CNPC Ningxia Chemical Plant, Shanxi Taiyuan Chemical Plant, and BASF Nanjing Catalyst Factory, achieving good social and economic benefits.

Beneficiation Automation

This project develops sensors for iron ore grade and automation controls to respond so that variable upgrade ratios can be implemented in the beneficiation plant, delivering a more constant output from the plant and therefore higher on average grades with higher returns. The iron ore industry is experiencing lower grades internationally and this problem is likely to be ubiquitous globally with a consequent large market potential.
The partners are well qualified and expert in their fields. The client supports it strongly and has confirmed a strong value proposition. The automatic adjustment technology has been developed and applied to chrome and coal and along with conventional flow rate and density sensors will deliver substantial value.
