January-February 2009 Automobile exports fell by 58% year-on-year


China Automobile Industry Association released export data last week, showing that in January-February this year, auto exports reached 38,100 units, down 58.01% year-on-year.

According to the export of automobile auto companies collected by the China Automobile Association, the number of auto exports in February was 21,700, a decrease of 52.02% year-on-year, but an increase of 32.56% from the previous month. In January of this year, automakers' export volume showed a deceleration year-on-year and year-on-year, with a total of 16,400 vehicles exported during the month, a decrease of 43.80% compared with the previous month and a decrease of 64.11% year-on-year. Among them, 0.73 million passenger cars were exported and 0.91 million commercial vehicles were exported.

The top ten manufacturers in terms of automobile export volume were: GAC, Great Wall, Chery, FAW, Gonow, Beiqi, CNHTC, Brilliance, ZTE, and Changhe. The above-mentioned 10 companies exported a total of 12,600 units in January, accounting for the total amount. 76.83%. Compared with the same period of last year, with the exception of ZTE's rapid growth, the decline of other companies is more obvious, of which Chery and Beiqi are among the top decliners.
