On March 31st, the national key desulphurization project with a total investment of 290 million yuan, Shengli Oilfield Shengli Power Plant No. 3 unit desulfurization equipment successfully passed the 168-hour complete set of trial operation. This marks the end of the desulphurization project of the Shengli Power Plant and the realization of overall operation.
As a national key desulphurization project, the progress of the desulphurization project of Shengli Power Plant has always been the focus of the national, provincial and municipal environmental protection departments. The operation of the pre-project is also strictly in accordance with the plan issued by the Provincial Environmental Protection Bureau. Shengli Power Plant has started preparations for the desulphurization project since 2002, and has successively completed submitting programmatic documents, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessment reports and other technical data for the “11th Five-Year Plan†for desulphurization and project proposals. April 10, 2008, the project officially started.
Shengli Power Plant adopted the unit's implementation of flue gas desulphurization reform as a major measure to fulfill its corporate social responsibility. It continued to accelerate the pace of construction of desulphurization projects, timely adjusted the direction of construction, supernormal operation in an extraordinary period, and fully promoted the construction progress of the project. On October 31, 2008, the project achieved breakthrough progress, and the desulfurization project of the first two units was transferred to trial production. During the trial production process, the equipment operated smoothly and the desulfurization efficiency reached 95% or more under full-load operation conditions, which effectively improved the air environment quality over the Dongying area. At present, the plant has submitted an application for acceptance of the completion environment of the desulfurization project to the Provincial Environmental Protection Bureau.
After the desulfurization unit of Unit 3 was put into production, it marked the completion of the desulfurization project of the two units of the second phase of Shengli Power Plant, so as to realize the overall operation of the desulfurization project. During the trial run, important equipment such as circulation pumps, booster fans and oxidation fans operated well, the desulfurization efficiency reached over 95%, and the concentration of sulfur dioxide effluent was controlled at 300 mg per standard cubic meter.
According to reports, after the desulfurization unit of 4 units is put into operation, it will greatly improve the environmental conditions in the Yellow River Delta and improve the quality of life of oil city residents.
