On January 3, several symposiums were organized by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The event brought together representatives from major central enterprises across the country. Huang Danhua, the deputy director of SASAC, attended the meeting and expressed her appreciation for the progress made by these companies.
Dongfeng Motor Corporation's General Manager and Party Committee Secretary, Xu Ping, along with Deputy General Manager Liu Zhangmin, participated in the symposium. Xu Ping provided a comprehensive report on Dongfeng’s recent operational performance, long-term development strategies, ideological and political work, and the implementation of the Labor Contract Law. He highlighted that from January to November this year, Dongfeng produced 1.05 million vehicles and sold 1.02 million, marking a significant milestone as the company achieved its goal of becoming a million-unit auto manufacturer ahead of schedule.
Over the past four decades, Dongfeng has consistently prioritized its employees, fostering a culture where both the company and its workforce have grown together. This balanced approach has led to sustainable development and mutual success. In line with the implementation of the Labor Contract Law on January 1, 2008, Dongfeng emphasized the importance of understanding and applying the law effectively. The company encouraged all levels of management to view the new legislation as an opportunity to improve internal relations, enhance management practices, and strengthen overall corporate governance.
After listening to the report, Huang Danhua praised the achievements of seven central enterprises, including Dongfeng, in areas such as production, technological innovation, and party building. She emphasized the importance of aligning with the spirit of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, urging enterprises to integrate their actions with the party's policies. She also stressed the need for central enterprises to fully implement and understand the Labor Contract Law to ensure healthy and harmonious labor relations within their organizations.
The conference featured reports from seven key central enterprises: Dongfeng Corporation, Wuhan Iron and Steel Group, China Three Gorges Project Development Corporation, China Changjiang Shipping (Group) Corporation, China Gezhouba Group Corporation, Wuhan Institute of Posts and Telecommunications, and the Yangtze River Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
