From June 3 to June 5, China's first national exhibition showcasing environmentally friendly achievements under the theme "Environmentally Friendly and Influencing China" opened at the Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Center. The event highlighted innovative green technologies and sustainable practices across various industries, with the petrochemical sector standing out as a major highlight.
In the dedicated area for environmentally friendly enterprises, reporters noticed that petrochemical companies captured significant attention. Their booths were large in number and scale, drawing crowds of visitors eager to learn about their eco-friendly initiatives. At the PetroChina Daqing Oilfield Co., Ltd. exhibit, staff members shared that the company has invested over 8 billion yuan in building 154 oil-contaminated sewage treatment stations. This has created the largest industrial wastewater treatment system in China, reprocessing a total of 50 billion cubic meters of water. Not only does this help reduce environmental pollution, but it also conserves valuable water resources, demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainability.
During the exhibition, the China Environmental Friendly Summit was also held, bringing together hundreds of leading eco-conscious enterprises. These companies jointly issued the "Declaration of Environmental Friendliness," urging society to adopt greener practices, fulfill environmental commitments, and promote self-regulation. They called on all sectors to work together in advancing the vision of an environmentally friendly society.
The event was organized by the China Environmental Protection Federation and supported by the Heilongjiang Provincial Government, with additional backing from key national agencies such as the State Environmental Protection Administration, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Construction. This collaboration underscored the growing importance of environmental protection in China’s development strategy.
